On Reinstallation however, the new install 'remembered' the custom.dic location which After un-installing I have used CCleaner, manually removed any folders etc. I have repaired Word (twice), and un-installed it, the problem remains after re-installation.

A quick check shows the same problem in Excel, although Word docs are the only ones sent to other people, and so are my main concern. It is the same on old documents that I know (100% sure) were previously inspected ok, and completely new documents.

For some reason, the document inspector in Word 2010 is only partially completing: custom xml data headers footers etc, invisible content and Hidden text all show the message 'This inspection did not complete successfully'.
